    Bishop George J. Leake III Scholarship Fund

    Sis. Gail Thomas from the Western Episcopal District has been appointed chair of this Scholarship committee.

    The Bishop George J. Leake III Scholarship was established in 1981 under the presidency of the late Dr. Betty V. Stith. The scholarship is designed to perpetuate the visionary legacy of Bishop Leake by offering financial assistance to A.M.E. Zion clergy enrolled at Hood Theological Seminary. In this 21st century it is crucial that Zion raise up clergy with a theological education as reflected in legislation adopted at the 2008 General Conference . Ongoing contributions to the Scholarship Fund can be sent to the:
