Details: Community professionals will present information about their area of expertise (i.e. gang violence, education, health/wellness, finance, etc.) in a convocation-style format. Then, attendees will ask questions and have an open conversation about presented material. The Purpose: Assemble youth and young adults in a safe place to learn about and discuss issues affecting our generation from Christian and secular perspectives. Ultimate Goal: Armed with information about how to ‘be better and do better’, inspire attendees to stand together to rebuild our community through partnerships formed at event Things to Bring: An open mind and a pair of jeans (gently used or brand-new) and two can to donate to local homeless shelters. |
This event is sponsored by the youth members of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion (A.M.E. Zion) churches in Oregon and Washington and is open to any youth-age individuals regardless of faith backgrounds. Please note topics will include, but are not limited to gang violence, health, pre-marital sex and alcohol/drug use.
